A tribute to Dame Marie Bashir AD CVO
Members of the College community and friends are warmly invited to a special event to celebrate the life and legacy of Dame Marie Bashir AD CVO.

A resident of the College from 1950 to 1955 and Senior Student in 1954, Dame Marie remained deeply connected to the College throughout her life, serving on College Council for more than three decades and later as Chair of Council.
She was a distinguished medical practitioner who worked across children’s services, psychiatry, mental health and Indigenous health, and championed young people and those most in need. Her extraordinary contribution to public life saw her become the first woman to serve as Governor of New South Wales and later Chancellor of the University of Sydney.
Through her leadership, compassion and lifelong commitment to education and service, Dame Marie inspired generations within the College community and beyond.
