The Women’s College Council seeks to appoint the next Principal of the College, following the announcement that Dr Amanda Bell AM is retiring after seven years of distinguished leadership.
The Women’s College within The University of Sydney was the first women’s college to be established in Australia in 1892. Today over 300 women either reside or have affiliation through the non-residential program, benefiting from the many opportunities for leadership, academic, cultural, sporting, service and professional skills development, as well as mentoring and networking, that are offered as part of The Women’s College Advantage.
The next Principal will be highly attuned to the needs of women, personally and professionally, seeking to ensure a compelling student experience that prepares them for their life ahead. An inspiring and future-focused strategic leader, the Principal will seek to build strong relationships and connections inside and outside the College. Effective advocacy and communication skills are essential. Business acumen and operational expertise will ensure the continued health and sustainability of the College. Experience with philanthropy is an advantage.
