Student Employment opportunities 2020

A range of student employment opportunities are available within the College for the 2020 academic year. Please check the position descriptions for the relevant requirements and hours of work and consult your semester timetable before you apply; several of the positions have specified hours of work for which you will need to be available.

College Photographer

The photographer will need to make herself available for photographic shoots as required by the College. This role requires a student who has her own high-quality photographic equipment and who can demonstrate versatility and a good creative eye. Photographs may be used in a range of publications by the College.

Events Assistant

The Events Assistant will report to the Conference & Events Manager and provide professional support for the College’s extensive internal and external events program in which the university, alumnae, parents and the public are invited to utilise the College facilities.

“Bagdrag” students report to the Executive Housekeeper and provide support for her and the contract cleaning staff over the weekends during the university semesters, working to keep the College in good order by monitoring and maintaining the various common areas.

Casual tutors are employed to take tutorials which will assist in the learning outcomes of students by providing high-quality academic support and guidance.

Application requirements: Expressions of interest are invited and potential tutors will be notified early in semester of whether there is demand in their subject area. Applicants must submit a CV, university transcript and covering letter, including a list of University of Sydney course codes and names of subjects in which the tutor is competent to teach.

Function Waiters

These casual positions are primarily for students interested in waitressing at Formal Dinner. Students must be able to commit to working 4 – 10pm each Monday night during semester for which there is a Formal Dinner. Other function work may be available. Students will be employed by our commercial caterers, Spotless. Training and uniforms provided. RSA and Working With Children clearance required. Some experience in hospitality is preferred but not essential. Students in any year level may apply. All successful applicants will be required to complete the Spotless online Workplace Welcome and Safety Training which takes approximately 4 hours to complete.
