Sally Auld

SALLY AULD (1990-1993), Cricketer

In May 1999, Sally Auld was selected to represent the MCC in its first ever women's fixture against a Surrey U21 side. As captain of the Oxford University Women's Cricket Club in 2000, Sally enjoyed the honour of playing both for and against the MCC. A successful season culminated in a hard fought victory in the annual Varsity match against Cambridge. Three wickets and 22 runs resulted in Sally being named 'player of the match'.

Sally, a Sydney University medallist, completed her Doctorate of Philosophy in Economics at Oxford University, and returned to Sydney in late 2000. She spent the next four years working as an interest rate and derivatives strategist for Credit Suisse First Boston in Sydney. In June 2005 she started a new job at the Commonwealth Bank as a senior fixed income strategist in their global markets section.

Sally is still playing cricket, most recently for Balmain-UTS Cricket Club in their women's second grade side, but laments that her team lost the semi final in the 2004/05 season.
