Council Elections 2010

Nominations are called for four councillors of The Women’s College Council to hold office for four years from
1 January 2011. Nominations close at 12 noon on Wednesday 10 November 2010 and should be sent to: The Returning Officer, The Women’s College, University of Sydney, NSW 2006. Nomination forms can be downloaded here or contact Mary McGuirk on 02 9517 5002 or secretary@thewomenscollege.com.au

The main purposes of the Council are to provide, maintain and develop the College as a residence for such female students of the University as the Council may approve and for related purposes; and to provide such assistance in the educational development of the residents of the College, who are students of the University, as the Council may decide.

The Council consists of ten elected councillors, a Treasurer, and four ex-officio councillors. The ex-officio councillors are: the Principal of the College, the Senior Student of the College, the President of The Women’s College Alumnae, and the person nominated by the Senate of the University.

The Council currently has five committees: Building and Development, Finance, Marketing, Nomination, and Scholarships.
