Council Elections 2008
Nominations are called for five Councillors of The Women’s College to hold office for four years from 1 January 2009. Nominations close on
Friday 24 October 2008 at 12 noon, and should be sent to: The Returning Officer, The Women’s College, University of Sydney NSW 2006. Nomination forms are available for download here. Alternatively, contact Mary McGuirk on 02 9517 5002 or secretary@thewomenscollege.com.au.
The main purposes of the Council are to provide, maintain and develop the College as a residence for such female students of the University as the Council may approve and for related purposes; and to provide such assistance in the educational development of the residents of the College who are students of the University as the Council may decide.
The Council consists of ten elected councillors, a Treasurer, and four ex-officio councillors. These ex-officio councillors are: the Principal of the College, the Senior Student of the College, the President of the Women’s College Alumnae, and the person nominated by the Senate of the University.
The Council has six committees: Building and Development, Finance, Foundation, Nomination, Scholarships, and Marketing.
